Announcement: High School Parents

Some of you were asking at conferences about the literature class. Each jr. & sr. high student has been assigned a book to read. They are to read through at least the first chapter by Monday, November 22, and turn in a summary of that chapter.

Hope that helps. They will be doing a chapter by chapter summary to ensure they are keeping up on the book and that they actually read the entire book. (Some didn't last time) Obviously, they are going to have to do a few chapters a week to keep up.

Also, some students have not taken advantage of extra credit assignments and projects offered to them. Parents were surprised by that. I offered several Extra Credit assignments the first quarter on the Presidential Election that covered history and English. You might want to tell your son or daughter that you want them to do the extra credit if they are struggling.
